The Visual March to Prespes is a process that is been realized the last four years (2007 to 2010) in the area of Prespes. The activity intends to organize in Prespes on a year basis visual activities that will explore the landscape, the culture and the ecological dimension of the area. At the same time the Visual March to Prespes aims to establish a network of exchange between the instructors and the students of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, the local community, and the broader Greek, Balkan and international community.

 

Organizer of the Visual March to Prespes is the 1st Painting Workshop of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia. The project has been realized for the year 2010 from the Municipality of Prespes, with the sponsoring of Achlada Coalmines.

 

Coordinator of the process is Yannis Ziogas, painter, assistant professor of the 1st Painting Workshop of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia, director of the  1st Painting Workshop of the Department. In the Organizing Committee the steady members over the four year process are Philipos Kalamaras, sculptor and Sofia Kiriakou, painter, both instructors of the department of Fine and Applied Arts. The hiking guide for these years is Theodoris Fatsis.
